A CHINESE WEEK OF FILM history:

The first edition of the Imagery Chinese Film Days was held as a private initiative from 22 to 27 May 2023. Thanks to the personal contacts of its creator and organiser (Viktória Váradi), a Golden Bear Award was awarded in its first year, and a film was also recognised at the Montreal International Film Festival for Best Director and a music award (Lake of Souls/Women From the Lake of Scented Souls 1993, Black Paripa/A Mongolian Tale 1995).

Both films have been specially produced for Hungarian screenings with high quality Hungarian subtitles, and the film's director, Professor Xie Fei, personally attended each post-screening discussion.

Among the screening venues were the Károli Gáspár Reformed University, ELTE and MMA MMKI. The practice of souls to mark the 30th anniversary of the film's success at the Berlinale, and the European premiere of a version of the film that was fully restored and restored in China for this anniversary. Two screenings took place in Debrecen at the Apollo Cinema and Professor Xie Fei visited the University of Debrecen.
