Find out the motivations and story behind Imázsia!
My years in Beijing and my studies at the Beijing Film Academy inspired me to start organising a Chinese Film Week in Hungary. I was strongly motivated by the fact that many people in this country only know about modern China from economic and political news, or from books about its thousands of years old culture.
However, the reality outside is much more nuanced and diverse, albeit in different settings, but people live their daily lives there just as they do elsewhere in the world. Films are much better at capturing the experience of China that the visitor has.

The programme was designed to give domestic audiences a comprehensive view of the outstanding Chinese filmmaking of the past decades, while offering a valuable and exciting experience for the Chinese community living in the country.

I am confident that with the help of the films and the guests from China, we have not only attracted the interest of the audience, but also brought the filmmakers of the two countries closer together - something that has benefited Hungarian and Chinese filmmakers as well as the audience.
