*The Light of the White Pagoda* guides the viewer through the hidden corners of traditional Beijing, whilst a drifting food critic tries to find his way through the maze of his estranged family relationships and everyday loneliness. When a young, energetic photographer enters his life, the man is finally forced to confront the oppressive shadows of his past.
In 2023, the film was invited to take part in the official competition programme of the Berlin International Film Festival.
