Qiao Liang, Professor at the Beijing Film Academy, Following the Moon director of the film

Qiao Liang is a professor of directing at the Beijing Film Academy and an active film director and producer. In a career spanning two decades this year, he has made numerous short films, documentaries, TV dramas and feature films, most of which he has written the scripts himself. His work has been a major success at national and international festivals.

Even as a child, he developed a deep interest and admiration for art and the art world. Thanks to his theatre director father, he grew up in the dressing rooms and backstage of Chinese opera companies instead of kindergarten. The unique impressions and experiences he gained there are sometimes reflected in his films, including his latest, Following the Moon (2022).

The film premiered at the Beijing International Film Festival in 2024, and this year Hungarian audiences will be able to see the film at the Imagery Chinese Film Week. After the screening, Qiao Liang will share behind-the-scenes secrets of the film with the audience in a panel discussion on the stage.
